The Annapurna Circuit is more than a trek; it is a journey through time. You climb from tropical forest to the arid valleys of Mustang, passing through terraced crops where time seems to have stopped. Every village is a mosaic of prayer, of prayer wheels spinning in the wind, and of smiling hospitality.
The climax, the Thorong La pass at 5,416 metres, is the moment when oxygen is scarce and willpower becomes your only fuel. Up there, the world seems to stretch to infinity: the snow-capped summits of the Annapurnas, Dhaulagiri, and surrounding peaks form a panorama that surpasses human understanding.
"At 5,000 metres, silence is no longer an absence of sound; it is the voice of the mountain speaking to you."
The trek requires rigorous acclimatisation, infinite patience with the Nepalese pace, and an ability to marvel at every detail. It is a physically demanding expedition, but one that nourishes the spirit through the depth of encounters and the majesty of the landscapes. Descending toward Muktinath feels like returning to life after a long meditation at altitude.
